Though the spring runway debuted the brand’s new Toile Iconographe to the world, it was designed initially for resort and further expanded upon with the spring collection.

Introducing the Valentino Deuxième Bag

When it comes to the bags, the resort collection introduces a new shoulder bag, which feels very different from the Valentino we know at the moment. It lacks Rockstuds, for starters, and hardware in general, for the most part.

The silhouette is fairly structured, with an interesting flap closure that, to me, feels reminiscent of the Valentino Eyewear VLOGO octagonal frame sunglasses (does anyone else see it?), and in leather its very minimally branded, easily missable as Valentino aside from the iconic VLogo Signature detail on the bag’s handle. Thanks to the adjustable handle, the bag can be worn over the shoulder or crossbody.

The Valentino Deuxième Bag does come in the new Toile Iconographe and goatskin, which is quite the opposite of minimally branded, however. The leather versions have yet to drop, but the monogram bags are available in two sizes, La Petite and Le Grand, for $3,400 and $3,800, respectively. It’s likely the all-leather versions will be even more.
