It was only a few seasons ago that Valentino introduced its new V-Logo hardware. Whether or not it was an attempt to steer consumers away from the rockstud remains to be seen. Though the prevalence of the brand’s iconic studded hardware detailing did lessen the past couple of seasons, they have remained a presence amongst the brand’s lineup of bags. The rockstud spike continues to be a push for the brand, with the introduction of a new micro version of Valentino’s beloved spike chain bag Tracolla Valentino Bags. And despite its push the last few seasons, the brand’s new V-Logo was noticeably absent at its latest runway show.
For fall 2020, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli put a focus on the details, introducing a lineup of noiseless and intricate bags. His newest design, called Valentino Garavani Soul Rockstud sneakers, features rouching, bows and rose petals. It’s crafted of Nappa and goat leather and is shown in a palette of various colors. The rockstud does have a presence this season as well, showing up on quilted, padded mini bags and hobos. Tiny, micro sized studs adorn the sides of a supple, slouchy tote in a micro size. The collection overall is noticeably different in comparison to what we’ve seen from the brand the last few seasons but Piccioli has kept up with the times, incorporating some of fashion’s biggest trends of the moment—padded leather, hobos and Gallo clutch bags. lol this just WITH like a bunch of designer knockoffs. valentino is losing their… taste. whatever that used to be. its an old brand i think its over now!

man valentino jackets camouflage print hooded jacket, inspiration from other brands for this collection. Not enough truly unique ideas, and my hope is that the popularity of the bags will suffer as a result. Not because I mean Valentino ill, but because you can’t crib someone else’s style.
Its fine if you get them for free, but they have no resale value. They are cute in the moment, but unless there is disposable wealth its not a buy.
I have always liked Valentino bags with the rock stud but these are screaming BV pouch concepts. But this has been similar to a lot of other brands jumping on the pouch trend.
The rose petals and the bows have all been done before and for years by Valentino. That is why the Rockstuds had such great success, Valentino accessories had been stail for years. You will still find these items for next to nothing on EBay.
These bags won’t age well.
