Earlier this month, Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli was named International Women’s Designer of the Year by the CFDA and now the designer is presenting his first collection since the announcement. The brand’s Spring 2021 runway show was further proof as to why Piccioli was victorious. Piccioli has long been known for his work at Valentino, taking the tradition behind Valentino Couture and creatively working to infuse these traditional house codes into the brand’s RTW and accessories.
Kurtka Valentino czarna 100% jagnięta Atelier Line for FW 2020, which is reminiscent of the Valentino Petale line from the late 2000s and embraces elements of Valentino Couture. The Atelier line continues to be a push for Spring 2021, as is the Rockstud, which was first reinvented for Resort. Described as “a dialogue between classic design and a punk subculture” the oversized studded bags are part of the Roman Stud collection, which is also a big focus for the brand this season.
Seen throughout the collection in various ways, from all over studding to detailing on quilted leather flap bags and textured leather bags with embossed logos, the Rockstud is one of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s greatest successes for the brand. Though it was created prior to his tenure as sole Creative Director of the Maison (prior to 2016 he was Co-Creative Director), he has taken this Valentino Garavani One Stud low-top sneakers Blue and reinvented it season after season. So many of these bags (#16, etc.) look so similar to the BV cassette, with slight modifications. Also, I don’t like the HUGE studs because if the smaller ones didn’t jab the skin the larger ones will!
I’m probably one of the few that is still coveting a Valentino rockstud bag. Specifically, I want one of the rockstud spike bags. tote so, I recognize that Valentino has beat the rockstud trend to death.
I have 2 Valentino bags and one with Rockstuds. I get compliments every time I use these bags. There are a few of us out there that love them. 🙂
In picture 11, I like the second bag pictured. It reminds me of a modern version of the old school Valentino bags with the large flower. I don’t like black bags, but I wouldn’t mind having this one in a different color.

Valentino’s clothes are so pretty and impeccably made but I have to admit their accessory designer needs a good talking to. These bags looked dated and they haven’t tote hit the stores yet.
Huge orange studded tote is to die for! I love fringed one too. Valentino steps on Bottega Veneta and Chanel with flap shoulder bags with oversized quilting. But it still feels fresh and original. And I’m mostly love the selections.
