Get In Touch Vogue.com, interviewing Italian fashion designer Massimo Giorgetti of MSGM. Giorgetti spoke about the uncertainty of fashion post-pandemic and his responses were interesting and thought-provoking. How will the fashion landscape look when all this is said and done? June’s collections will show how designers and brands were able to cope through all of this and what their inspirations will be.
Conversely, what will consumers want to see from fashion once we’re on the other side of this? Will fashion continue to be more paired down and minimilastic with a focus on comfort like it is now? Will sportswear and athleisure continue to reign or will consumers gravitate towards glitz and glamour as a reprieve from months of gloom and doom? Regardless of what’s to come, it’s evident now that most of us are focused on functional comfort.
Below I’ve rounded up a handful of shoes I’ve got my eye to wear now and beyond. Birkenstocks have been a go to of mine for years and I need to replace the pair I tossed last season. I do wear them around my apartment and they come in handy when walking down to the laundry or taking out the trash. That bonus shoe I teased? When COVID-19 was just a far-off worry I was lusting over a pair of Nike Jordans and I finally found them in my size via StockX. I like Golden Goose sneakers and I feel like I follow fashion enough to get the concept, but they really DO look so much like how my other cheaper pairs look on their own after a couple years of wear that I kinda can’t stomach the cost. Those are cute though!

When everything calms down I will eventually need some new summer footwear – I have arthritis in my foot pretty bad and unfortunately there are a lot of shoes I can no longer wear. I like how sporty they look and also appear supportive.
I recently purchased a pair of tangerine orange Birkenstocks. Since we can’t really go anywhere I’ve been wearing them around the house. I’m a lost cause.

I think that athleisure will rule….it does during the pandemic and will continue to do so long after…comfort is key in these troubled and uncertain times…..Birkenstock’s are great although I’ve been trying to purchase the mink shearling ones in size 7 for months so if any of you out there know where I can get a pair…leisurewear sets are cute to wear inside and to walk the dog…alas nowhere else to go right now?
The UGG slides are fantastic! Good for lounging around the house or a quick coffee run. Wouldn’t recommend them to wear for your shoes of the day. Lol
