Latest Obsession: The 3.1 Backpack Cl Gr

3.1 Phillip Lim Calf Hair Ryder Bag Pink

Shoulder Bag COPBA37405, 3.1 Phillip Lim has been on an accessories roll lately. He won the CFDA’s 2013 Accessories Designer of the Year honor last month, sure, but it might be even more impressive that he’s managed to make me want to buy a camouflage handbag. (Okay, maybe that’s only more impressive to me.) Now, another Lim bag has shot to the top of our collective shopping list, and this time it’s the 3.1 Backpack Cl Gr.

I’ve been waiting for this bag to hit stores since it first debuted on the brand’s Fall 2013 runway, and now that it’s here, it doesn’t disappoint. Lim’s accessories have been moving in a more minimal direction for quite some time, and this bag, with its tonal black hardware and solid, square front panel for decoration and embellishment, sticks to that theme. The bases are all black leather, but the front can range from that same leather to multicolored rabbit fur. The standout versions so far are the bright calf hair versions, and the pink one is calling my name rather loudly. Prices start at $895 for solid leather.

These are gorgeous but I worry if they will have the same hardware problems that the Pashli does. I hate a badly made bag!
