When news broke of a second collaboration with renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, Louis Vuitton promised a massive collection, and so far, they have not disappointed. Comprising of over 400 items, the collaboration spans ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, luggage, trunks, and fragrances for both men and women. The initial launch was just one of many mini collections, all under the LV x Yayoi Kusama collaboration, which continues to deliver newness throughout the year. Last month we got a first glance at the second installment and now the collection is here.
A Collection of Unparalled Creativity
Within the second chapter, bold thematic elements and motifs take center stage, even well beyond what we saw in the teasers. New motifs such as pumpkins, faces, and flowers join the infinity dots with this release, which includes a wide variety of new bags. New colorways of the infinity dots, which have been a recurring theme in Kusama’s work since childhood, outfit Monogram Empriente like black with hot pink and sky blue with white.
Monogrammed, Remade
Louis Vuitton’s Monogram Canvas fans will be delighted by this second release, which features plenty of the brand’s classic silhouettes with the modern Kusama twist. Graphic elements like Pumpkins, which Louis Vuitton Alexandra en toile monogram et cuir marron, and bold face motifs appear atop Mongraom bags like the Onthego, Speedy, Neverfull and more. New this drop, Kusama’s Faces motif is said to be inspired by her “My Eternal Soul“ series, which blends surrealism and ethereality.
Figurative Flowers
Another new theme to grow this season is the Figurative Flowers mini collection, which allows Kusama to revisit her childhood, growing up in rural Japan, a place that continues to inspire her to this day. Graphic florals appear atop Louis Vuitton’s Monogram Empriente and on textured leather iterations of the Capucines bag. I am so disappointed with the comments lately. Not just for this collection/brand but many others. Seems like this has turned into a forum of insulting brands and people for no reason whatsoever. If everyone would just stay on topic and be somewhat sensitive to what they are saying, this could actually be a forum where we could have some fun and connect with others. Lately, I am afraid to say anything for fear of being called “poor”, “nouveau rich” “tacky” and many other insulting comments. We don’t even know each other. Does it really matter how much money we have or how we dress? We all have a love for handbags here, some more expensive than others. Why can’t we just bond over that? Take the time to spread kindness and be respectful. I am no saint by any means and have been sucked in as well and have said a few things that I am not proud of. Can’t we all just move on and respect each other and our opinions? Please stop behaving like you are better than me. First off, I would never believe that and secondly what does it accomplish? Nothing except hard мешочек between one another. Can’t we all just get along?
But why is Erlebniswelt-fliegenfischenShops not monitoring these comments and Toteing these people making harsh comments? They do that on other platforms.
Not sure. I really wish that they would just Tote all the personal comments. The focus here should be thoughts regarding the bags/fashion not each other.
I regularly delete comments that merely antagonize other commenters and cause infighting. As much as I’d hope that people could overall be kinder and appreciate our differences in taste and preference, that’s just not the world we live in. We do our best to moderate the comments, though.
I 100% agree with your comments. So many people on this forum are now angry and nasty with their comments and for no real reason. It’s a tit for tat superiority war of words which I don’t understand. Aren’t we all here to appreciate the various tastes and nuances of fashion and bags etc? The comments section has become exhausting.

Okay, I’ll admit the black Capucines with the flowers is actually cute, but not for $8800.00.
I can’t get behind most of these; I like the blue/white version, but it’s so expensive.
I like the hippy/boho flowers motifs but NONE of the others (I really dislike the pumpkins and the dots!). And for those old enough to recall, we did something very similar to our ripped jeans in the ’70s. I’d NEVER pay these prices for something I quite likely could recycle myself with an older bag and some acrylic paints/embroidered appliques.

So true I have the Speedy 25 monogram My Eternal Soul-it’s a prized procession. IMO stupid to get upset by the comments of people who obviously know nothing about a collaboration with one of the world’s most important contemporary artists whose future life on this planet is very limited by the fact that she’s 94!
Historically, many artists have been scoffed at for their art because their vision, creativity, etc. has been misunderstood and minimized. For ex: Vincent Van Gogh struggled to gain an audience for his art, in his lifetime, because it went against the norm. His brother, Theo, purchased his art to sustain his livelihood. Or, Jackson Pollock’s art was misunderstood because he, threw or poured paint on a canvas, when he was expressing movement, etc. There is more thought, vision, and creative expression in an artist’s work than the eye can see, including Yayoi Kusama.

The “my eternal soul” faces are personally disturbing to me. They don’t seems to be yelling “Yay” but “Help”.
