Nicolas Ghesquière has become known for many things during his tenure at Louis Vuitton. One of them is his international spirit, taking Louis Vuitton on a world tour and holding fashion shows everywhere from Southern California to South Korea. For Cruise 2024, the House’s roots in travel remain, and this time Ghesquière brought the Maison to Europe, staging his first show in Italy.
Supreme and Louis Vuitton surprised us with a collaborative Isola Bella located on Lake Maggiore in Northern Italy, the weather had other plans for Louis Vuitton. As the rain continued to monsoon, guests were directed towards plan B. Luckily, the house was able to stage an earlier show to capture images of the collection through the original lens that it was imagined.
Mythically Inspired
The majestic, lush ambiance of Isola Bella was clearly an influence on the cruise collection, which is dreamy and stylistically interesting. Ready-to-wear is bold. Straying from ordinary silhouettes, pieces featuring daring accents like strongly rounded sleeves and neoprene ruffled collars. Ghesquière has taken the mythical folklore of Isola Bella and translated it, quite literally at times, into a contemporary collection.
The Bags of Louis Vuitton Cruise 2024
The bags themselves are more commercial and wearable than the RTW pieces. There are new takes on the Petite Malle, featuring an innovative leather-effect material with quilted piping detailing. That same audacious quilting is seen on the GO-14 bag, which is unveiled in greater detail for Cruise 2024 (though it was originally revisited by Ghesquière The Louis Vuitton x Kanye West collab was dope). The GO-14 is imagined this season with marine-inspired accents. Epi leather also returns to the runway this season in strong, bold hues.
Looking for Red fresh? There’s a new little lady in Tinkerbell. Said to be inspired by the Looping bag from the archives, this circular, half-moon shape is revealed in white and sand-toned Monogram canvas with a black leather strap. It’s finished with a leather tab and a signature gold-tone hardware turn-lock. Discover more below, images via Louis Vuitton.

As soon as I saw the design, I said NOPE. With all their quality issues these days, it screams cracking. It’s one thing to be unpractical. It’s a whole other thing to be completely unuseable.
Did LV give you the equivalent of what you paid? For ex: if you paid $4K did you get back credit for $4K, to buy your new bag & keychain? Did they offer to fix it? I don’t buy LV bags anymore because I’m tired of the “brass” tarnishing. Thx.
I know, I try to M51512 as little brass as I can. It seems they could make it better. I do M51512 a good cleaner thankfully.
