Ever, year, usually in September, Louis Vuitton debuts a new animation print that graces some of its most popular accessories for the holidays. If you’ve been anxiously awaiting 2016’s edition, today is your lucky day! Thanks to our PurseForum members, I’ve learned that the new 2016 Louis Vuitton Christmas Animation Collection is available in stores now.
Louis Vuitton’s history has deep ties in the world of travel, from iconic steamer trunks to modern duffel bags and rolling luggage. The animation for 2016 is influenced by the glamorous golden age of transatlantic cruises, along with the brand’s strong travel heritage. The illustrations feature a couple waiting to board a cruise ship with their Louis Vuitton trunk in tow. This limited edition print layers on top of the brand’s Monogram, Damier Ebene and Damier Azur canvases and comes in popular shapes like the Pochette, Ziggy Wallet, Coin Purse and more.
These accessories are popular among Louis Vuitton loyalists, and the print makes them collectors’ items. Last year’s Evasion Collection was very well-loved on our Forum, and I noticed the brand’s whimsical print had a dominating presence on Instagram. I bet the same fate is in store for 2016’s Christmas Animation.

I don’t get it either. I’d rather see different color versions of the coated canvas than slapping illustrations on top. To me the illustrations are too disconnected with the background and makes the products look cheap. Similarly I don’t get the Gucci Blooms – same idea. But to each their own. Hence the large product offering.
People collect these things in the same way people collect snow globes or stamps or city mugs from Starbucks.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like this because all the people are white?? I mean they changed the colors of their clothes, why not make the people different colors too? 🙁
Its an archive print from Louis Vuitton. From back in time when people weren’t so jolly sensitive and faux outraged by poorly perceived slights.
Not trying to start anything … but maybe they don’t consider people of color? I heard that one designer (rumor perhaps?) said something like “If I knew so many Black people were going to buy my bags, I’d have made them more expensive!” Needless to say, I don’t even look at his stuff. Now, he’s not LV high end, but he does have a brand that has (or at least for a while) quite a following. Like I said, I’m not trying to start anything, but with so many comments about the change of clothing but not a change of people, this was the first thing that popped into my mind.
