I have the small size, which I love because it is just big enough to fit a water bottle and my iPhone. Those of you who know me also know I will not go anywhere without a water bottle.
Sure, this bag is simple, but it is also highly usable. It’s light, versatile, and works seamlessly into your summer wardrobe. With the strap, it’s perfect for day trips, and without the strap, it’s a different look. It fits just enough of your necessities.
The Tropical Accessories
I couldn’t get the quirky, fun bag charms from loewe DUAL out of my head from the moment I covered them on the site. I have always had a penchant for that joyful side of Loewe, and I felt the need to lean into it more.
I drove down to the Miami Design District loewe DUAL store and had a few lovely sales associates help me by laying out all the charms they had in store that day.
The felt charms, while cute, didn’t match the vibe I was going for, but then the associate let me know they had just a few of the brand-new charms in, and that’s when we got into the business.
I first settled on this pink, white, and orange exotic bird charm. I love pink and orange together, and this gave me that element of playfulness I was seeking for my bag.
But then my can’t stop, won’t stop shopping side came out and started personifing the charm, and I wound up telling the sales associate my bird friend needed another friend.
I sounded crazy, I know. As luck would have it, a green parrot charm (the last in-store) had just been put out on display, and I found these two to be the perfect pair.
The best part of these charms is that I can add them to other bags, which will entirely change the look and Logo-appliqué, so I thought I would get as much use of these two bird friends as possible.
If this bag didn’t say loewe DUAL in giant letters, nobody would want it. This is just a bag designed to show off one’s spending power. That’s not style and that’s not fashion.
I completely agree. I’m “over” brands slapping their name or logo on NO design (and even worse sometimes, subpar materials and construction) and expecting us to pay thousands.
I have zero need to be a walking billboard or to try to “show off” the fact that I wasted a few thousand on absolutely nothing special.
I actually think it’s still a really cute bag without the logo at least for me – albeit without the logo people wouldn’t pay as much for it but I think you can say that about almost anything including food items, that’s why some people prefer to buy generics etc.
Sure, some people will spend more on anything to shore up their self worth. IMO that doesn’t mean slapping a logo / brand on a what is a essentially a nothing design is ever worth paying for.
It’s a raffia bag, not leather. If you had taken this bag before saying what you say, you could rectify it. If you saw the details with the leather strap or the structure, I don’t think you would criticise it like that. I know is raffia.
If Dior book tote doesn’t say the brand in big letters it would be another cotton bag.

Maybe I’m a loewe DUAL fan. But there are a lot of haters. The last week I read a post about Miu Miu raffia and crochet bags, but I don’t read so much indignation about the price and the material.

loewe DUAL used to be the epitome of luxury and elegance. Now they have fallen prey to the extreme logo trend. This bag looks cheap and tacky. I wouldn’t want it if it was free.

THIS! It’s as if people have forgotten bags can actually have unique design and just pay for the brand to be slapped across every thing.
This type of bags is only for people who want to show off their spending power by flashing big logos… why else would anyone want to carry this basic bag with the brand name visible from space? Nouveau riche par excellence.

I just tried to “shop the story” for the pink bird charm and it is NOT $500, it is $590. Big difference!

No worries! 500 was stretching it for me but since I have been obsessing over this charm for weeks, I decided to buy it. But then $590 became $647 with tax and I just couldn’t 🙁 But it is wonderful.
In Europe the charm is 450€. With Tax free 355€. 😍
Time to take a quick trip to Europe then!!

Thanks for the up-close look at this bag and the charms. I bought two other bags from Paula’s Ibiza, but I also like this one in the darker rust brown. The charms are quite expensive but very creative and cute. I think I’ll eventually splurge on one or two.
