Post-pandemic fashion will largely be defined by the return of Louis Vuitton Monogram Favorite PM 2Way Shoulder Bag M40717. La cote des sacs Louis Vuitton Bucket Nightbag doccasion, LOUIS VUITTON Epi Leather Black Speedy 40 Handbag, and the handbag world in the late 2010s and early 2020s will go down in handbag history as the era of the revivals.
What started to boom in the late 2010s quickly became a massive trend at the turn of the decade, and by the early 2020s, it seemed that every major designer was dipping into its archives for inspiration. Terms like “pulled from the archives,” “vintage-inspired,” and “re-edition” are some of the most popular phrases used to describe many of the handbag world’s current It-bags.

Still, the bag world’s major luxury players understand the power of a good revival, reissuing popular styles entirely, and Louis Vuitton continues to lead the pack.
In the last few years, some of the most beloved bags from the 90s and early 2000s have made a grand return to the Louis Vuitton Monogram lineup, and today, we’re unpacking the four most iconic returns from the Maison. Do you remember these bags?

The return of the Белые кожаные кроссовки кеды louis vuitton 39-40 in 2023 felt like an immediate step back in time—to 1997, to be exact. The Ellipse bag first debuted in 1997 and was an incredibly popular silhouette during its 10-year reign (it was discontinued in the late 2000s).
Given its Rubber for the distinct oval shape, the bag is further defined by leather accents. While the revival dropped in the smallest size, the original design came in PM, MM, and GM models and was also introduced in Damier Ebene Canvas. The revival was also modernized to include the option of a crossbody strap.

Louis Vuitton Croissant MM
An early 2000s favorite, the Louis Vuitton Croissant bag remains one of the most-wanted LV Monogram models on the secondary market. So, it’s no surprise that the Maison finally revived the bag in its original form last year. Plus, with the moon bag silhouette continuing to trend, there was no better time for its return.
Like the Ellipse Bag, the original model came in PM, MM, and GM sizes. Still, the revival arrived in the medium size, this time with an adjustable strap and fitted with a miniature Croissant bag charm.

Louis Vuitton Vivacité
An early aughts favorite, the Vivacité debuted in 2003 and was a true representation of Y2K fashion. Defined by its exterior pockets, the Vivacité is a utilitarian take on classic Monogram Canvas, returning just in time for the cargo bag trend.
Contemporary and modern, the Vivacité offers an effortlessly cool appeal, given a casual touch with the revival’s short textile shoulder strap. While the original model came in a few sizes, this archival revival is a one-size-fits-all, modeled after what was originally the Vivacité MM.

The Louis Vuitton Piano Cabas bag was the early 2000s version of the Neverfull. First released in 2001, it was perfect for the LV girl on the go with its thick shoulder straps and zip top—it was later discontinued in the late 2000s. Today, it’s back and better than ever, described as “a new Monogram icon in the making.”
The revival features an extendable exaggerated shoulder strap, which adds a modern stylistic detail to an otherwise simple silhouette. Leather triangles at the bag’s sides further define the shape, reinforcing its corners. Simple, yet chic, the new Louis Vuitton Piano bag first dropped for Pre-Fall 2024.

Memories! My LV Ellipse was one of my first designer bags and I loved it so much.
I went to the LV store online and they are currently selling it! I may need to buy because it’s too cute!

I have had the Ellipse since 2000. I loved this bag back in the aughts, and while these days, I don’t use it nearly as often, I do break it out on occasion. It’s a great purse when I need something that will take a bit of a beating and still look elegant, so it is especially useful for shorter trips when I don’t have to have that much in my purse. My go-to for longer trips is the Speedy 30, which is amazingly capacious. But I find I don’t always need that. Bless LV for their fabulous workhorse bags.
I took my 2006 carryall bag to Louis Vuitton today for a complete replacement of the leather. I paid 675 euros in 2006. The repair estimate is 1100 euros. 🤣🤠 I love this bag so much that it’s worth it to me, but crazy to think about the inflation in 19 years. I wonder how much this bag would be sold new in store in 2025. Probably over 2200 euros.
LOUIS VUITTON Scarves.
I’ve heard that the new vachetta is treated so that it does not patina, is that right? If so, I’ll take the vintage bags any day! Plus the vintage canvas is thicker and more durable.
Only on certain bags/collections. However, the beauty of even patina is what makes a Louis Vuitton bag luxurious. Untreated leather must be perfect.
I always shy away from the vachetta leather, I dislike the patina, rarely even. Good to know treated vachetta is an option.
Ellipse was really love at first sight. The silhouette is just *chef’s kiss*
In the early 2000s, I had an Cabas Piano. At $900 it nearly broke the bank for this young professional LOL!
I also had the Cabas Piano bag. It was my first LV bag and was around $525 or $550 in June 2001. Loved it and used it for many years. So bummed when it was discontinued for the Neverfull, which I love too. It’s still in my collection and I’m never getting rid of it.

Hm, maybe the perfect time to pull out my Manhattan PM again that needs to be used much more. Even the leather looks nice and new still although I believe I bought it in 2006-2007.
It’s always a love-hate relationship with the LV monogram. Sometimes I hate that it’s too loud, but sometimes I just LOVE how it elevates an outfit.
The Ellipse PM is very Distinctive, most people maybe more like it. but the tiktok link seem has some problem in the article, because it did not show.
I remember wanting an Ellipse and scouring for one on eBay in a price I could afford. The shape and silhouette were so different. I loved the Manhattan as well. Fast forward to today, I still want the Manhattan.
I would rather theiy made more MC 🙁
isn’t that the LV that was in that friends episode on Rachel towards the last ep? and it wasn’t a real bag? maybe i’m making it up.. or old.
