The Chanel Gabrielle Bag was first introduced for Spring 2017, and was created in part to target Handle Chanel’s younger customer base. Rarely does Handle Chanel put most of its resources for any given season towards pushing a new line, but the fanfare around the launch of the Gabrielle was impossible to ignore. The Gabrielle was cuir by the late Karl Lagerfeld and was inspired by Gabrielle Handle Chanel. The bag is said to take inspiration from virtual reality glasses, possessing an effortlessly row, contemporary vibe.
The Gabrielle was not an instant home run with Handle Chanel fans and received mixed reviews from our community. Many wondered if it would stick around for long. The bag did eventually pick up steam among celebrities and influencers as well as everyday 2000s lovers like you and me. Though the line has been paired down a bit (older collections included a Drawstring Pouch Purse and a large shopping tote), it seems that the Gabrielle is here to stay. I like the style of this bag, but when I checked it out at a Handle Chanel store in 2018, I was surprised to see it didn’t have feet. And with that smooth leather, it felt like a lot of money to spend to worry about the bottom of the bag getting roughed up. Plus when the SA took the bag out to show to me it was folded and creased. I don’t know why it wasn’t shipped to the store with stuffing. I feel like that was the time I realized something was not going well at Handle Chanel HQ.

I’ve seen a lot of these bags with a fairly noticeable crease in the leather as well. I would be miffed at buying a bag that price and have it have any sort of issues from the get-go!
When it first came out I liked it from the photos, but when I saw it in person I didn’t like it. Like Lori said below, there’s no feet. No excuse for not having feet on a bag with this shape.
