Early last week, Gucci presented its latest collection with Los Angeles as its backdrop. Creative Director Alessandro Michele chose LA and its iconic Hollywood Boulevard in part thanks to the legacy of his own mother and the worship of beauty she passed down.
“Hollywood is, after all, a Greek temple populated by pagan divinities. Here actors and actresses are acknowledged as heroes of the myth: hybrid creatures with the power to hold divine transcendence and mortal existence at the same time, both the imaginary and the real.” – Alessandro Michele
And with the iconic Walk of Fame as the backdrop for the Gucci Love Parade collection, Hollywood icons took the place of some of the models, and a star-studded cast appeared draped in new Gucci. Jared Leto, Macaulay Culkin, and Jodie Turner-Smith, to name a few, were seen wearing Gucci Love Parade in further celebration of the House’s centennial year. Feminine fabrics like lace and faux fur explore the object of desire and are juxtaposed with masculine shapes like tailored suits.
As for the bags, there were plenty to see, like the brand’s classic bamboo bags (Gucci Victoire 55mm Double G pumps), Gucci Kids Children's denim pant with Web and more. A continued focus on the House’s storied history is presented in Gucci Love Parade, like the resurgence of an archival messenger from 1971. You’ll also notice the appearance of Gucci’s old GG logo, a direct revival from the archives, and further cementing this mix of new and old. Take a look below at bags from Gucci Love Parade.

I like the interlocking GGs as links in chain straps. YSL has already done this but the round GGs work really well.

The gold GGs are on the flap are too big and garish. The large GGs worked on the Soho line because it was tonal and raised, not flashy.

These are all just modern remakes of vintage Gucci designs. Circa 1950s-1980s.
The ones with the big interlocking GG circles are called “Blondies”.

The bag was costly to begin with. I never wear it. It is in amazing condition. I still have it in the original box.
