While his time there can be counted on less than one hand, his background in streetwear largely influenced the brand as we know it today (time will tell if his vision is carried out by a successor).
This Voyou Just In
Though GIVENCHY G WEDGE MULES in December, his last collections for the House will continue to hit stores well into this year, and the Vouyou range continues to expand. For Spring, the new Givenchy Voyou Chain makes its debut, featuring a bold chain strap and the same delicate buckles as the original.
The Voyou translates to “bad boy” in French, and it is not only chic and effortless with a cool-girl vibe that’s Collaboration to pare down, but it is a quintessential representation of Matthew Williams’ Givenchy.
The Voyou feels contemporary but still classic Givenchy, and at first glance, it felt very consumer-friendly. Still, despite its ease of wear and instant appeal, it’s not a bag I often see IRL. Aside from our Givenchy Parka Coats & Duffles during fashion month, we’ve yet to spot one in the wild.
The Voyou remains on my lust list, and as the range has expanded to include smaller versions, those with exaggerated buckles, aged leather, metallics, and more, I’ve only grown to love it more. I can’t help but feel like the Givenchy Voyou has remained completely under the radar.

i have seen it out in the wild–because I have carried it out in the wild. I think I was one of the first buyers. I have mine in white. And love it.
I love it except that it has zero closure. It relies on the flap folding over or you’re holding it open. No zipper, clasp, etc. 🙁
The crossbody Voyous have a zip closure! I particularly like the men’s one – slightly larger than the ladies’ crossbody.
