Fendi kicked off its centennial celebration at Milan Fashion Week with its Spring 2025 collection earlier this week. With Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi at the brand’s helm, Fendi continues to explore its heritage, reviving storied codes from deep in the archives.
The exploration of the Fendi Felpa culminates with Spring 2025, building upon the foundation set forth for Fall 2024, ahead of the brand’s centennial. This season, the collection simultaneously looks ahead at the future of Fendi and behind at its origins.
Ready-to-wear takes on new meaning with an elevated appeal meant to feel celebratory, melding the worlds of couture and RTW. As we’ve come to expect from Fendi, pieces are inherently romantic and feminine, offering an ethereal glow.
An Ode to the Beginning
Models floated down the runway in embellished frocks and drop-waisted dresses with fringes and beads, an ode to 1920s Art Deco and the decade during which Fendi was founded. Though there are clear nods to the past, pieces still feel modern and relevant to the 2020s, proving Fendi’s power in transcending time.
The bags, too, play on the same themes, with beaded and fringe elements present throughout. Intricate embroidery juxtaposes the soft construction of the updated silhouette of the Fendi Mama Baguette. New iterations of the iconic Peekaboo are shown with fringes and dressed with charms and other accessories.
