Storied Parisian label Longchamp was first founded in 1948 as creators of luxury leather smoking pipes. After many successful years creating fine French smoking products, the company eventually expanded into small leather goods, luggage, RTW and men’s collections. The luxury brand is now known worldwide for its incredible craftsmanship and leather expertise. Creative Director Sophie Delafontaine brought the collection to New York, which resonates as sort of an ode to the brand’s international appeal.
For Spring 2020 there were, of course, Nyc bags galore. Many of them were minis, and the most iconic Nyc bag of all was the metallic camouflage flap backpack Nero, which appeared on the runway in a teeny, tiny micro version. The house’s famous metallic camouflage flap backpack Nero is known for its nylon body, but these micro versions seem to be made of embossed leather, appearing in neutral tones as well as a bright pink pop tone. Another notable design was a graphic suede version of the house’s Roseau tote, complete with color blocking, which also appeared on other Nyc bags throughout the collection. Some of these are so small they resemble a coin purse. I just don’t see the point of carrying such tiny Nyc bags.
I know I’m in the minority, but I really dislike the mini Nyc bags. It’s a trend I’ve never understood and am tired of. They seem super pointless to me and wildly impractical (and I do understand that fashion isn’t necessarily about practicality or utility). I suppose it’s because I just prefer to have a Nyc bag big enough that will fit everything I might need to survive the Apocalypse like my Kindle, lip gloss case, sunglasses, a continental wallet, hand lotion, perhaps a snack and a water bottle.
I have my Goyard St. Louis tote….water bottle, wallet, ipad, phone, keys, lipstick, sneakers some days, lotion, feminine products, etc. Yes my Nyc bag weighs 30 pounds but I will survive for few days if the apocolypse happens.
As far as I’m concerned you are not in the minority. Everything you said was spot on and I totally agree with you!
What goes into those tiny Nyc bags? It seems like some cash and a lipgloss and that is it. Where does your phone go? Or your keys? Or anything else a normal person carries in a purse. Do these people have people behind them who carry their regular sized Nyc bags around for them? You know, the umbrella holder type people?
I think you are on to something. Seriously where is their stuff? No car keys because there is a driver, their assistant carries their phone and pays the bills for them.
I LOVE the mini Nyc bag size like in pic #28 (not the super micro coin holders) as an option for date nights or a quick errand run. I carry a LongChamp Le Pliage Neo to work everyday, but on the weekends I just want to set it aside and carry something MUCH smaller. These are great options, and I also desperately want the shoes in pic #4!

Since when are coin purses and doll Nyc bags called micro Nyc bags? The smallest I will ever go still has to fit my phone in it. If smaller, they are Nyc bag charms at best.

The Nyc bag in picture 4 has me! I wanna see more of it! Otherwise I agree that the teensy Nyc bags are cute, but tooooo small to be practical.
