Chloé’s Pre-Fall 2019 Bags Capitalize on Successful Elements of Past Bags

It seems as if every single designer is playing into the logo love trend these days, so it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise when Natacha Ramsay-Levi debuted a huge ‘C’ logo hardware on Chloé’s resort 2019 bags. For Spring 2019, Ramsay-Levy chose to hone in on the Chloé ‘C ‘even more, introducing new shapes and sizes, and the collection as a whole gave off a bit of logo overload! I’m pleased to say that for Pre-Fall 2019, Ramsay-Levy used the ‘C’ sparingly and instead chose to introduce new versions of the Chloé Tess Bag along with some interesting new shapes. I’m both intrigued and excited by this direction, and with a handful of collections for the brand under her belt, it seems as if Ramsay-Levy found her groove.

Overall the collection was commercially strong with bags in mostly neutral tones. The Tess Bag was elevated for Pre-Fall 2019 in what appears to be a pretty embossed croc. I was a fan of this bag from the beginning, and it works well alongside the introduction of two new bags for the brand, both of which off elements from previous bag hits. The first, is a boxy chain bag, which appears to come in two sizes. Shown in black, and brown, this bag features a flap closure, and if you look closely at the hardware on this bag, you’ll recognize it from the ever-popular Chloé Drew Bag. Next up, Ramsay-Levy added another day bag to the Chloé line-up, which at first glance appears very similar to the Chloé Lexa. This new day bag has both a top handle and a longer shoulder strap. You’ll notice a large, exaggerated lock, which is reminiscent of former it-bag, the Chloé Paddington. New versions of the Chloé C Bag feature textured leather in a camo-like print, which is also used on the Tess Bag as well. Check out all the bags below.

I love the black one in the main picture, it’s gorgeous!

Victoria

I loved the Paddington so much that this new homage to it is very appealing. I love the one in caramel brown. Would make a good work bag too. Wonder if it is heavy like the original Paddington…

5 & 16 are nice

I don’t really care for the C logo. I really like some of those bags but then the C logo just kills the appeal for me. I do love the bags with the lock on it.

?4ladyfox

Just how many “C” logo bags are out there, now? Too many! A real turn-off!

Kelchic

I really like the bags with the drew closure as well as the ones with the lock. Over that “c” logo entirely. #5 and #17 I love!

FashionableLena

I like bags 7, 10, and 14. I can’t believe that they’re bringing back the Paddington lock. I wish that I could buy that separately.

The chloe Emmy is a true skinny jean

1,2,3,6,8 love.

That bag with the lock looks exactly like what Givenchy just released… lol

Passerine

The large bag shown in the main picture and in other colors farther down is very appealing. I will think seriously about getting that one. The rest, pass. But boy, the whole collection, including the clothes, has such a 70s vibe! Makes me wish I’d saved my good clothes from the late 70s, I’d make a killing in the vintage market…

chae

oh, no…. the lock has returned…. I still own Paddington. Years ago I used to carry it without the lock due to its weight not to mention the leather itself was heavy as well.

Master Green

That C logo is complete garbage and a clear betrayal of what Chloé used to stand for.

Hyojin Park

Agree! No one likes the hideous C logo. I just don’t understand why they keep pushing it.

what a mess – between the C logo and the Padlock – this is atrocious

Miss Suri

I also really can’t get behind the new logo….the C just really kills it for me, don’t know why.

Hyojin Park

I think I agree with pretty much everyone here that the C logo is absolutely hideous and is NOT chloe Emmy at all. I just don’t like anydash the new creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi is doing. Not even the Tess bag which is an impractical version of the Drew. Nodash is as good as the classics like Marcie and Hudson.

I love the bag in the main photo and in the colors in 16, 17, 19. It’s exactly what I’m looking for from chloe Emmy — a little big of architecture (reminds me of the Phoebe Celine days), a little bit classic (Ralph Lauren), a little bit of nostalgia for the Paddington, and all with a completely new twist so it doesn’t feel like every other tired bag out there (Chanel, Louis, and Hermes copies that trickle down to the contemporary brands). Does anyone know when these bags will finally be available?

Bblonde

Likely July or August because it’s prefall

Laneeta I

I’m wondering the same dash…when will it be available?
