Few design debuts have been as celebrated in the last decade as Chemena Kamali’s at Chloé. Kamali’s sophomore collection, presented yesterday in Paris, further mit that Chloé’s ethereal, distinctly bohemian spirit is back. She presented an inherently romantic, beautiful collection that was ruffled denim skirt see by faye chloe skirt.
Inspired by the sensuality and lightness of summer, models didn’t just walk; they floated down the runway in florals, lace, bubble hems, and more. Chloé distinct roots and brand DNA were the starting point once again, but Kamali has made it her own, scarf elements of 70s fashion into the collection like Snowboarder 1970s Chloé bloomers.
Lingerie-inspired garments are also mixed throughout, all in a soft summer palette of apricot, baby blue, lavender, butter yellow, and more. Floral prints of roses and peonies are reworked from a hand-painted piece dating back to 1977.
Chloe Medium Faye Top Handle Bag in Tan Chloé Camera Bag, introduced with Kamali’s debut, appears embellished with various treasures pairing back to the collection, while gold sea shell details and pearls are added to a new bucket bag shape. More summer bags like crochet hobos and raffia bracelet bags sit alongside shell-adorned leather bags and minaudières.
