That one from Brother Vellies is definitely a direct copy of the ones being made in the northern part of Ghana. I even own one and the price is much much lower and more reasonable. They didn’t even change anything so I wonder if they are buying it from here.
You are right! I bought one from Ghana in Lusaka 5 years ago for less then $50. Beautiful bags spiral-trimmed and very strong. As you mention an exact replica of the Ghana version. They are also being sold in Lusaka Intercontinental Hotel boutiques.
Last summer I bought the Santorini basket from DeMellier and fell in love with it. So far has held up super well and comes with much better price tag that most of the designer ones.
My bff bought the Santorini after I got the Loewe one and I loved hers more lol 😂
