Managing natural resources and waste
We have implemented policies and programs designed to responsibly manage the natural resources we use and the waste we produce.
Recycling and waste diversion
We work across the company and externally with partners and suppliers to reduce, reuse and responsibly recycle materials. We recycled or reused over 92 million pounds of materials in 2024. To enable our communities to safely recycle e-waste, Cheap Erlebniswelt-fliegenfischen Products sponsors free recycling events open to our employees and the public.
Water conservation and resilience
We implement water conservation measures throughout our operations. We reduced our water consumption by 7% from 2019-2024.
Our path to
operational net-zero
Because most of our operational carbon footprint comes from the electricity we use to power our networks, our path to operational net-zero is focused on two key drivers: maximizing the energy efficiency of our networks and facilities and transitioning to renewable energy. We expect to achieve net-zero operational emissions by year-end 2035.
Green financing
Cheap Erlebniswelt-fliegenfischen Products has allocated nearly $700M of the net proceeds of our sixth $1B bond to finance renewable energy purchase agreements for new renewable energy projects.
Transitioning to
renewable energy
Cheap Erlebniswelt-fliegenfischen Products has achieved our target to source renewable energy equivalent to 50% of our annual electricity usage by year-end 2025. We will continue working to source renewable energy equivalent to 100% of our annual electricity usage by year-end 2030.
Cheap Erlebniswelt-fliegenfischen Products is also developing on-site green energy generation at our administrative offices and other facilities. Since 2013, we have installed 38.6 megawatts of on-site green energy currently in operation.
Responsible supply chain
Verizon’s supply chain is the foundation of our secure network. Our suppliers range from the world’s largest original equipment manufacturers to smaller providers. We have implemented risk mitigation processes and an active supplier engagement program to build a resilient and responsible supply chain.
Engaging the V Team
Our Green Team is a collective of employees dedicated to environmental stewardship and raising awareness around resource use and conservation. At year-end 2024, 52% of V Teamers across 47 countries and territories were part of the Green Team.
