Rudy van Duijnhoven

Rudy van Duijnhoven was born in 1961 and obtained his diploma as a Freelance Photographer in 1987. In May 1992 he started his own business as a freelance photographer and author. His everyday work now consists of taking pictures of products for catalogues and magazine columns, translating and writing articles, making recordings of shows, giving workshops on fly casting and fly tying, giving fly casting demonstrations at different shows in Europe, etc.

These days he will fish with the fly rod for any fish that is willing to take the fly. From roach, rudd, bream, carp, ide, sea bass, etc. in The Netherlands up to blue shark in Ireland, payara and sardinata in Venezuela, tarpon and snook on Curaçao and St. Maarten, steelhead in British Columbia, seatrout in Denmark; the possibilities are endless. One of his firm favourites is to fish streamers for pike in autumn and winter.

Since January 1992 Rudy is the co-ordinator fly fishing of the monthly 'BEET-Sportvissersmagazine', that is published by Vipmedia in Breda (NL). At the offices of several magazines in Holland and abroad (as well as at his own address) he has situated large stocks of digital pictures, with a great many topics around sport fishing as subjects. From these publications have resulted in fishing magazines in a great number of foreign countries including Germany, the UK, Italy and the USA. In early 2016 Rudy started his own flyfishing blog with news and articles from across the world on fly-fishing. It can be found at www.flyfishing-blog.com.

In January of 2001 I was nominated, along with two other photographers, for the 'BEET Hengelsport Promotieprijs 2001' (BEET Angling Promotion Prize 2001), this for all the pictures I have published and work I have put into BEET since 1992. At the official opening of Visma in March, it turned out that most of the readers of BEET-Sportvissersmagazine had voted for me. I have donated the cheque worth 3000 guilders that comes with the Promotieprijs to the 'Stichting Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland' (organisation which looks after refugees in the Netherlands).
